Pets can break your heart

So, for now, I'm still a 4 cat household. I had steeled myself to let Sanibel go to the rainbow bridge, but it just didn't feel right. So, too much money, too much time, a few tests, and way too many indignities later, she's back at home. The diagnosis is confirmed; it's liver cancer. Prednisone, however, may, for an unspecified and unguaranteed time, ease some of her symptoms. I have gone that route and she's responding! It may only be a week, but she has a little more time to lay in the sunshine, watch the outside world go by, and enrich my life with her presence. And when she is ready to go the bridge, she has friends waiting to welcome her.
